To understand why George Pataki isn't like every other politician, you must first learn where he comes from. George Pataki is the second generation of Patakis in America. His paternal grandparents immigrated from Hungary; meanwhile his maternal grandparents came from Ireland and Italy. Each, in their own way, brought with them hopes and dreams of making a better life for their children and their grandchildren. Could any of them have known that one day, one of their own would join the illustrious ranks of Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, or Nelson Rockefeller to become Governor of New York?
