Since taking office, Governor Pataki has cut taxes by nearly $13 billion, more than any other state. In fact, in 1996, New York cut taxes by more than all other states combined. Governor Pataki's stewardship over the greatest period in tax-cutting in New York's history has been recognized by the respected CATO Institute which gave Governor Pataki a rating of "A" for his success in cutting taxes.
